Supplier concensus
I have all my pm's in order and have been stockin up on canned foods for the last few months. Recently I have also been buying from "cash and carry"...a public retail store that caters to restaurants here in the bay area.I've bought beans, rice, sugar etc. in large quantities. I want to also order a year supply of freeze and dehydrated food from a online vender to round out my stash. Whats the general consensus out there regarding venders? I have already checked out "emergency essentials" & "saratoga". I am a single guy with only my mouth to feed and did'nt want to overkill as far as ultimate and premium packages are concerned.I know that most of these products come in #10 cans and was concerned about restoring some of these after opening them. I guess if I was smart I would not open anything until that time came since the whole idea is the long shelf life.
Thanx in advance |

Well, I don't think you'll be ordering off the Mountain House website, unless you like uncooked porkchops...

Re: Supplier concensus
I personally ordered from Nitro-Pak. I don't know how good their prices are compared to anywhere else, but I wasn't going to spend a lot of time shopping around when it comes to a disappearing resource.

Re: Supplier concensus
MREdepot is outstanding. FAST service. Extremely quick shipping. They are in CA and I am in SC, and have had all orders delivered within five days of paying. Coupon code "fluwikie" will knock 21% off the price of anything on the site.
http://www.mredepot.com/servlet/StoreFront I'm a repeat and very satisfied customer. I highly recommend them. |
Re: Supplier concensus
Thanks NCO. I think I'll try the coupon.

Re: Supplier concensus
Infantry any idea what these are like from there?
http://www.mredepot.com/servlet/the-...ood-Bar/Detail That site looks interesting but they sure don't list details on some stuff that I wish was listed. Like more details on these bars nutrition wise. Also what they might roughly taste like, even if they taste nasty and bitter I would like an idea of it. Also if you don't mind me asking what would you recommend from them? |

Early on in the article the author suggested a re-sealable package might be nice. After actually eating some of the nutrition bar he declared a re-sealable package was not necessary as nobody would want a 2nd helping.:shocked_ma: I thought that pretty well explained things. |
